Quality control on made-to-measure steelwork

Checked at every stage, guaranteed at the end

Every job is checked at six stages, from the steel coming in to the pallet going out, and photographed before it leaves. Here is exactly how that works, stage by stage.

What you can count on

  • Fits first time

You approve a drawing before anything is cut. Everything is delivered in numbered sections with a setting-out drawing, so fitting is straightforward.

  • A finish that lasts outdoors

Outdoor work is galvanised and then powder coated, in any RAL colour, and keeps that colour for years.

  • Good steel, clean welds

Known steel grades from a major distributor and qualified welders on every job. Clean welds, square frames and smooth edges.

  • Repeat orders come out identical

Your drawings stay on file, so a repeat order comes out identical to the first, with no re-measuring or re-drawing.

Checked at six stages

Inspection happens throughout production, at the points where every detail can be confirmed.

  1. Stage 01

    Drawing approval

You sign off fabrication drawings before anything is cut. This is where every detail is confirmed, so what is made is exactly what you approved.

  2. Stage 02

    Material receipt

Grade, thickness and heat number checked against the order before the material enters production.

  3. Stage 03

    In-process check

First-off dimensional check on batch work, and fit-up inspection on welded assemblies before final welding.

  4. Stage 04

    Pre-coating inspection

Welds inspected visually to EN ISO 17637, spatter dressed and edges smoothed, surface preparation confirmed before the work leaves for coating.

  5. Stage 05

    Final inspection

Dimensional check against the approved drawing, coating thickness spot-checked, piece count verified against the order.

  6. Stage 06

    Packing & dispatch

Packed to our standard, labelled and photographed before the delivery is loaded.

How it is packed

Every order is packed to the same written standard, so it arrives straight, clean, labelled and ready to fit.

  • Standard parts on 800 × 1200 mm Euro pallets, roughly 1.5 t gross maximum.
  • Every pallet finished flat-topped so another pallet can stack on it without crushing the load.
  • Long fabrications on 1200 mm-wide long pallets built from two to four Euro pallets side by side, one job per long pallet.
  • Labels on two opposite sides carrying project number, piece count and gross weight.
  • Stretch foil on all sides; coated surfaces separated with protective interleaving.
  • Loose fixings and small parts boxed, labelled and fixed to the pallet they belong to.

Every order is photographed before it is loaded, so there is a record of exactly how it left.
